The music therapy program at Brooks Rehabilitation uses neuroscience research to help patients heal. Physical, cognitive, and speech/language needs are addressed through Neurologic Music Therapy techniques.
Danielle Porter, Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital
Danielle Porter is a Neurologic Music Therapist who graduated from Florida State University with a Master’s Degree in Music Therapy and a Certificate in Gerontology. Danielle created and implemented the first Neurologic Music Therapy program at Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida in April 2015. Currently, she provides services at the inpatient level and across the Brooks continuum of care. Danielle specializes in Stroke, Brain Injury, and neurologic impairments but also has experience in mental health.
